sorry for the cell phone video, but you get the picture. The Malloys have been super busy, but we'll clear the backlog soon.

Meanwhile, Max is starting to read, and LIA has a tooth. Big developments on this end!

Little lady

The hoarder in me mourns the passing of seasons a little because babies so quickly outgrow beautiful outfits such as this one. L.I.A. had no place special to go today, but it's 80 degrees in November (thanks climate changers!)and we had to get more mileage out of this adorable dress.

new frontiers!

L.I.A. is crawling! Slowly, and backwards, but a whole new world is opening up for our young heroine.

Also, she loves kale and spinach (and paper, and Mama's wallet, and Max's toys). Mashed potatoes and squash, not so much.

L.I.A.'s new hat

One thing I didn't know about girl babies is that they make people want to cover them in hand-sewn/knit/crocheted articles. L.I.A. has been blessed with many blankets, sweaters, and this latest piece of adorable from Mama's hallmate Mrs. Darlene, who made hats for the whole family.

Max's photography

He's poised to turn the art world on its head with his abstracted figures and self-portraits. L.I.A. is happy to model.

Florida!

Grandpa took Max on a spur-of-the-moment boyz trip to Florida. Max had a great time seeing his family. Wish we could have all gone!

long live the Malloys

We recently lost Ty's beloved cousin Davon Malloy. Though Max and L.I.A. never got to meet him, we will work to make sure that they have a relationship with their little/big cousin Da'Vonni. Davon left a strong legacy of love, and we honor that legacy as we mourn his untimely passing.

Today we celebrated our neighbor Jakaya's birthday at that venerable old establishment of child mayhem, Chuck E. Cheese's. Good times.

L.I.A. is almost ready to crash the party. Now that it's no longer strictly boyz night, any suggestions for a new name for the weekly sleepover at Grandpa's?

"check the blog"

People often ask when the kids hit certain milestones, like rolling over or cutting a first tooth. I never remember, but that's why we have a blog! So for future reference, L.I.A. rolled over for the first time yesterday. There you have it, future inquirer.

"big boy"

Afternoon at the babysitter's house. Mrs. Paul has Max in her lap and pretends to feed him a bottle

MRS. PAUL: You're a baby!

MAX: No I'm not, I'm a big boy!

MRS. PAUL: Yes you are, you're a baby!

Max leaps up and performs a dizzying array of jumps, spins, and rolls.

MAX: Babies can't do that, big boys do that!

visitors

We had a lovely visit from Grandpa's friends (and secret blog readers) Shirlyn and Danell.  They brought lovely gifts for L.I.A. (and hairbows for those who can't tell that pink skirt = girlchild) and a puzzle for Max, who watched as we put it almost all the way together, then came through with the last piece for the win. Thanks ladies!

Monday Miracle

The law of two kids sleeping goes like this: two kids will never be asleep at the same time during the day, except when you are in the car on your way to the first of six errands. So this scene was worth documenting.

On another note... someone saw L.I.A. in this all pink outfit, in her pink flowered carseat, and asked if she was a boy or a girl. I blame Cam'Ron.
