Max gave Louie the Lightning Bug a little love as Mama entered a total time warp. Louie the Lightning Bug still exists?

giving thanks

we had a wonderful long weekend. We put Max's letter puzzle together, and now it graces his ceiling. Surprisingly, after this fiasco, we were only missing 3 small pieces.

there's the best...

and then there are the other Max Malloys of the world. There's

Max Malloy, communications nerd.

and Max Malloy, scrawny high school football player.

and Max Malloy, "christian.golf.piano.sand volleyball.birds and the bees.fireworks.beach at pawleys island, sc.trampolines.snowboarding at breck.drumset.p90x.left behind series."(hey, your cooler toddler namesake likes trampolines too!)

Sadly, Google has stopped finding my two favorites, Max Malloy, revolutionary playwright, and Max Malloy, (former?) head coach of the Mighty Cupcakes soccer team.

A star is born

last night,we went to see our favorite reggae-hip-hop band, Cobalt Blue. Max caught the feeling and got up on stage to jam with the band. It was a stunning debut.

day out with thomas

Today Max took his first train ride on a life-sized version of Thomas the Tank Engine! Mama and Daddy got their first taste of commercially fueled toddler frenzy (complete with mini "what do you MEAN I can't have the $70 Thomas merchandise" meltdown).

worth the wait

sorry guys! Mama's computer died. let the catching up commence. This is how much hair Max has now (compare with how much he had then.).

family fun!

Pictures forthcoming. Last week, Max was blessed to have three generations of Daddy's family come down from Connecticut and Maryland to visit. We all had a wonderful time with Great Grandmother Rosalie ("Manmunna") Great Grandfather Butch ("Bootch") Great Aunt Annabelle ("Babbabail"), Grandma Tamara ("Manma") and cousin Nathalie ("Momani"). We even discovered another cousin, Jason, in Clarksville, about 45 minutes away! The food was spectacular, the company divine. Pics to follow (ahem, Momani). We'll be up there soon!

cruisin'

Max took his buddy Samira for a ride in his "Papa's Jeep." Because every Jeep is Papa's Jeep.

We inherited a ping-pong table. Max is ready.

if you ever wondered

why Max is so smart... it's because he knows where electricity was really discovered.

Church Date

We're not sure if Max and Ashley actually made it to church, but he sure was stylin'! This is the rest of his Sunday Best from Aunt Sharon.

more awards show fashion

it must be the shirt. Max's take on the suit with no tie? The tie with no suit. NB: Max makes these fashion decisions for himself. If you think Max would let Mama and Daddy wrangle him into a tie just for pictures, you haven't met him. Clearly, he is wary of suburban toddlers everywhere biting his style and didn't want me even documenting the outfit.

Max: NO!

orthodontia

One morning at preschool(okay,it was my birthday), I got a call from Max's teacher telling me that he had fallen and knocked his tooth back up into his gum. I ran to the school and found Max in tears, sitting in a circle with the other toddlers, getting no love from his teachers. That was the end of Max's preschool career. After some emergency dentistry (and demerol), Max's tooth is back in place, with the help of these baby braces. Now he's homeschooled and happier for it. But at least we know that, if he ever needs real braces, he'll still be cute!

Monday, July 13, 2009

M-A-X spells Max.

And Max will show you, dear readers, very soon, that he can read his name. He'll also show you his baby braces and why he's now a home-preschooler. Check back in a few days, pictures and video to follow.

budding scientist

Max's photoshop skills are improving daily. Doesn't it really look like he's vortexing a sample with Auntie Kawai? Of course, Safety Officer, it's just an illusion.
