retrospective

sorry we are still under construction (camera having issues!). but here's the latest and greatest. Max has reached that stage where everything worth looking at is worth grabbing, and everything worth grabbing is worth putting in his mouth. His favorite is his zebra (seen in earlier installments), which he licks like an ice cream cone. Today he even tried to lick his image in his baby mirror! He has already outgrown my favorite onesie, sigh (see pics for comparison). That's okay, because the possibilities of baby dressing are endless and quite fun. Four months has flown by. Max's personality is emerging -- he is at once serious and observing, with "killer eyes" capable of intimidating the stranger who gets too close to his face, and playful with his favorite people (mom and dad!). He loves silly voices and games, and we are happy to indulge him. After a summer in the lab, he is comfortable with many molecular biology techniques. He has learned to read from watching Daddy work on his book (how the man can type with Max sucking on Ty's arm is beyond me, but that's why I'm the scientist), he can identify all the NPR personalities by voice, and he has thirty-seven lady babysitters on call if Grandpa ever bails, which he won't. Boy's night is too much fun.
